podcast Apr 07, 2023

I am beyond excited to bring this episode to you with the one and only Gabby Bernstein! Gabby is a 2/4 Emotional Generator, RAX of The Four Ways. She has been a role model to me for years and had a HUGE impact on my life, because she was one of the first people who I found was creating success in a completely different way.

Her story of overcoming addiction really resonated with me and my journey through depression and panic disorder. She also introduced me to the book, A Course in Miracles. For more than sixteen years, Gabby Bernstein has been transforming lives—including her own. The #1 New York Times bestselling author has penned nine books, including The Universe Has Your Back, Super Attractor and Happy Days. Gabby was featured on Oprah’s SuperSoul Sunday as a “next-generation thought leader.” This was a BIGGIE for me, because it was when Oprah started recognising more spiritual work in the world.

In her weekly podcast, Dear Gabby, she offers up real-time coaching, straight talk and conversations about personal growth and spirituality. From her start hosting intimate conversations with twenty people in her New York City apartment, Gabby has grown to speaking to tens of thousands in sold-out venues throughout the world. I kick off our discussion by giving Gabby a huge Thank You for helping me through my Dark Night of the Soul. I geek out on Gabby’s chart and how in alignment she is! She is such a model for healers and entrepreneurs, but that usually starts off with a challenge. Gabby shares her journey through this crisis and how she learned to trust her personal power.

Gabby shares that there have been so many times she’s been brought to her knees and had to surrender to the chaotic experiences and traumatic events. However, there’s always been a strong knowing that there is more – this helped her feel big things, go deep into the places that that scare her and move through the struggle.

We dive into what it means to be a Generator and an emotional being and how this applies to Gabby’s life. We also look at her Personality Earth, which is in Gate 24 – the shadow of which is addiction. So often, we think “I have this problem…” or “I’m broken and I need to fix myself…” but this is what has driven the work that  she’s here to do in the world.

Gabby shares that she’s been sober for 17.5 years and how she was able to do this because she was brave enough to go deeper and get to the root of her addiction – why she felt she needed to do these things with the intention to help her survive, but ultimately they were killing her. She was trying to stay safe from feelings that were too impermissible. Her cocaine addiction was a protection mechanism and a way of numbing deep suffering.

Now that she’s been through it, she can see the struggle through a lens of gratitude and appreciation. From a spiritual vantage point, she can see that she needed that catalyst to bring her to her knees so she COULD go deeper. This has created a strong sense of compassion, gratitude and respect for those who have been through addiction, because they are wounded and have felt trauma, but without the resources to process the fear.

Initially I was drawn to Gabby because of the discussion of manifestation and how I wanted to manifest all these different things. But as I followed her, I realised that I couldn’t skip over the hard work, the digging deep and the healing to get there. Now, her book, The Universe has Got Your Back, has become a mantra for me.

Gabby also inspired me because she showed me I could do things different and in my own unique way. It was so empowering to me to change my career and life path. Gabby shares her journey of change and how she didn’t give herself any other choice but to change. If she finds something she’s passionate about, she goes to the depths of the earth to make it happen. This can only happen because of the deep love and joy it brings. Building the life and career that she has now is just an extension of her following her love. She’s always had the motivation to show up every day to do the things she’s passionate about.

Next, we dive into Gabby’s Core Talent – Gate 12, The Gate of Grace. This gate is all about language, being able to use your voice to move people and connect with them emotionally. It is also a gate of channeling – being in the moment and sharing your personal journey so others can visualise it. Gabby loves the idea of calling speaking her core talent, she’s always thought of it as her art. She believes that when she knows what her intention is, she knows where she’s going and she’s in her heart (not her head), that more than just her words can come through. Inspiration moves through her in a collaborative way so she’s sharing a greater message through the lens of her own experiences. It’s a beautiful dance of listening, allowing, and informing.

Gabby discusses the preparation needed before she goes and speaks, so she is able to enter the stage in the right frequency. She’s found if she doesn’t do this, it has the potential to be a trainwreck. She shares her process for speaking and how intention setting and outlines help bring out the beauty and connection – especially when it comes to each unique audience. I geek out on how this means she’s always in response as a Generator and it’s super aligned!

To wrap up our conversation, I ask Gabby, “As a powerful, heart-driven, successful woman, what do you believe we need to be/do/have to create a better world? If you can give the planet a message with intention of total transformation from fear to love, what would that message be?” Gabby responds with the fact that we need to tend to and care for the undeveloped or wounded-children parts inside of us. We need to heal them through therapeutic and spiritual development. When we do that, we can get back into the center of ourselves – this is where we want to lead from and show up from.

I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did!

Big love,
